We are delighted to announce that Friday Bridge Primary School has been selected to take part in the Government's Free Breakfast Club Programme, which is being rolled out nationally to support children and families across the country.
From 3rd September 2026, we will be offering a free Breakfast Club for all pupils from Reception to Year 6.
What is the Breakfast Club?
The Breakfast Club will run each school day from 8:20 am to 8:50 am and will provide:
-
A free nutritious breakfast for all attending children.
-
Adult supervision throughout the session.
-
A range of enrichment activities delivered by Premier Sports.
-
A calm and positive start to the school day.
At the end of the session, children will be taken directly to their classrooms ready to begin learning.
Is there a cost?
No. The Breakfast Club is completely free of charge and available to all pupils between 8:20 am and 8:50 am.
What breakfast will be provided?
Initially, children attending the Breakfast Club will be offered a bagel as part of their breakfast. As breakfast will now be available before the start of the school day, we will no longer be offering bagels in classrooms.
All food provided through the Breakfast Club will meet the School Food Standards, ensuring children receive a healthy and nutritious start to the day.
What happens to the existing paid Breakfast Club?
We know that many families currently make use of our paid Breakfast Club provision. We are pleased to confirm that this will continue to operate from 8:00 am to 8:20 am.
The cost of attending this earlier session will remain £2 per day. Families may continue to use Tax-Free Childcare and Universal Credit childcare support to help with these costs where eligible.
Payments should continue to be made via Arbor. Please contact the school office if you require details.
Do I need to book a place?
The Breakfast Club is open to all children from Reception to Year 6.
Initially, there will be no need to book a place. However, if attendance regularly exceeds 20 children per session, we will introduce a booking system to ensure that appropriate staffing levels can be maintained. Should this become necessary, we will provide families with further information in advance.
