School governors have legal duties and responsibilities. Their main role is to help raise standards of achievement.

Governors will include:

  • Parents elected by other parents at the school
  • Staff elected by their colleagues
  • Local Authority representatives
  • Co-opted governors

Governors can:

  • make a difference to how well the school runs
  • see how their efforts help raise standards
  • do something positive for the next generation
  • serve the local community
  • help realise their own potential by learning new skills

Governors are appointed to help:

  • with the management and organisation of the curriculum
  • with the administration of the school budget
  • with the selection and appointment of staff

Being a Governor can be very rewarding; if you are interested, then please see the Headteacher or Chair of Governors for more information.

Minutes of Governors' Meetings are available on request from the school office.
